1)The calculator uses the the most widely accepted correlation (the “Goodman-Martinez-Thompson Correlation”) the current Mayan epoch began on Wednesday 11 August 3114 BCE (or -3113) (Gregorian) which is Julian date 584,283.
BC (or BCE) Dates: There is no year zero in the Gregorian calendar, and year 1 AD (or CE) is preceded by year 1 BC (or BCE) dates, use minus sign and subtract a year.
For dates of 1 BC and lower:
-3113 August 11 equates to -3114 BC August 11 "
-550 August 11 equates to -551 BC August 11
Dates of 1 AD (or CE) and above do not change:
551 AD August 11 remains as 551 AD August 11
2012 AD December 21 remains as 2012 AD December 21
